Greg Bishop
Production Control Manager
One term describes Greg Bishop best… Family man. Do good work, be helpful, provide for those around you, all of the tenets of a family man apply. The former General Manager/Vice President of family-owned Bishop Electronics, Greg finds himself right at home in Electrocube, another family-owned company.
“Electrocube is a great team with nice, dedicated people. We share the same philosophies in business and life, to be useful and valuable to those we care about most. At work, that means a devotion to our customers and our business.”
As Product Control Manager, Greg coordinates schedules and works closely with production managers and plans and schedules product in Electrocube’s manufacturing system. Additionally, he oversees the purchasing department. His responsibilities effect inventory control, balance production flow, and the efficient flow of raw materials and products.
“What I like about the capacitor industry is that it’s always changing and we work with wonderful people. There’s always an opportunity to help someone solve an issue or help with a design in every aspect of the business. There’s a great sense of satisfaction in that.”
Taking time to ensure quality doesn’t end at the close of business. A devoted family man, Greg’s preferred free time is family time.
“As a Dad, you love your family. But, I not only love my wife and kids, I like them. I like hanging with them.”
Whether he’s watching action movies, coaching youth soccer teams or travelling to their favorite vacation spots of Pismo Beach and Maui, it’s all made better for Greg with his family.
“There isn’t anything better than having kids. Family is important. The rest is just stuff.”
Married to his high school sweetheart 35 years ago, close with his two “awesome” married sons, beautiful daughters-in-law and an ugly-cute English bull dog named Marley, Greg is about to be a grandpa.
“That’s what it’s all about,” he beams.
Greg also brings with him a sense of fun to this band of quirky engineers – a welcome addition to the Electrocube family. “I have a strong resemblance to George Clooney…but only in my mind,” he jokes.
